Cool movie alert: 'Some Days Are Better Than Others'Posted Jan 12, 04:09 PMArtist Matt McCormick has been cranking out work for years — and, I have to tell you, I can’t think of anything he’s made that I haven’t liked. I was living in Chicago when I first saw The Subconscious Art of Graffiti Removal, McCormick’s award-winning short film. It argues that, even when someone destroys art (i.e. graffiti), he/she is still creating something new. Graffiti Removal is narrated by Miranda July, and McCormick has collaborated with several other artists and musicians over the years, many of them hailing from his talent-filled city of Portland, Ore. You may have seen music videos he directed for The Shins, YACHT and Sleater-Kinney, or a piece he did with Patton Oswalt. (Many of them can be viewed here.) Before my spouse and I traveled to North Carolina for a vacation last month, my aunt warned us about a pest we might spot near our beachhouse.
